The headline may be a bit misleading as we all want the conversion from our website visitors but actually the primary driver is generating traffic to your website.
Without significant traffic there is simply not enough critical mass to actually create any enquiries.
So, firstly let’s look at how we can send visitors to our website.
#1. Probably the best way to send top quality traffic to your website is Google Ads.
It is the only attraction method of marketing that will bring people looking for your services to your website and as such they are serious quality buyers that just need to be convinced to buy from you.
If you think it may be expensive then that all depends upon your cash position, Google published figures report and 8:1 return on investment, so if you have the cash and understand how Google works then it’s a no brainer.
Ask yourself this question, why would you not want to appear for your services at the top of google when people are looking to buy?
#2. Social media paid ads is an amazing way to drive large volumes of visitors at relatively low cost to your website. On average this method comes in at a 1/10 of that of Google ads
and will dramatically increases your website traffic. As its social media over 96% of this traffic will be on mobile devices.
#3. Blogs are fantastic when shared onto social media and will encourage visitors to return to your website over and over again. At virtually no cost, blogs can supplement the other methods I mentioned above.
#4. Email marketing when done correctly will drive targeted customers to your website, again another low cost activity but can outperform virtually any other method of lead generation. The use of link clicks will send traffic to specific areas of your website.
So, now we’ve looked at website traffic let’s get onto converting your visitors into actual customers.
My first conversion tool that I would recommend is Chat Software, this is not a robot but chat with a live contact. Hubspot have a fantastic chat facility which will allow your customers to easily communicate with you. Properly set up chat can be a real game changer for your business, customers love it, so embrace it and watch your visitors turn into customers.
Contact us – always make sure this is situated on the top right hand side of your website, visitors expect to see it there. Make your contact form simple and easy to complete.
Request a Call Back – another conversion button for your visitors to click and just a few bits of information and you can call back your visitor. This is very useful for people searching your website at unusual times of the day buy giving the call back conversion you can call them when you have staff available to help and therefore you gain the visitor as a customer.
Free trials – again another conversion button, can you offer a free trial of your service? Don’t forget to let your visitor know the normal cost of your service once the trial ends.
Conversion buttons – make them stand out by using non brand colours and generally towards the right hand side of your website.
Pop ups – these can be amazing for capturing visitor data, use them very carefully as too much use will potentially give you issues with Google but when used properly can capture visitor data and lead to future conversions.
Mobile optimisation – an ever increasing form of traffic to your website and absolutely vital that you consider your customers journey when navigating by mobile phone. Key services should be one click away.
